St Kilda vs Geelong Cats – Round 14 – Etihad Stadium – Saturday 25 June 2016

Hi Cats Fans,

Fair to say that last Saturday’s game featured a more than decent first half to set up a fantastic win against the young top-4-chasing Bulldogs, who were held to their lowest score in over three years! Our marking inside forward 50 was excellent and we finally had our kicking boots on to put us back on top of the ladder. Then there was Danger, Boris and Jimmy being ageless, along with full credit to Jordan Murdoch for his best game for quite some time.

This week we play the Saints again at 5.25pm and again at Etihad. Caddy is out for the time being with that knee injury but Cam Guthrie returns to add some drive through the mid-field. Hopefully we can get the win and go into the bye on top of the ladder. This would be a far cry from the game before the bye last year, when we lost to Melbourne at Kardinia Park in Boris’ 300th game to be 6-6 and 10th on the ladder.
We’ll be watching the game with the Western Saints supporter group in the upstairs bar at The Game in Northbridge; much like we did for the Kangas game a couple of weeks ago. The Western Saints also share the pub so come on down and cheer on the ladder leaders and even bring down any family/friends who support the Saints; for what will be cracking atmosphere (I guess we shouldn’t mention 2009). There will be the usual drink discounts and food available.
