Perth Cats News: Fremantle vs Geelong Cats – Round 1

Dockers vs Cats

Fremantle vs Geelong Cats – Round 1 – Domain Stadium – Sunday 26 March 2017

Hi Cats Fans,

Well the season is almost here and the boys will be kicking off things in Perth! Some first year rookies might get a guernsey against the Dockers, which would be a tremendous effort; while we’ll be hoping our superstars get us up to the heights of last season and beyond. One thing we do know is it won’t be easy from this Sunday and beyond.

PRE GAME FUNCTION-This Sunday at 1:00PM downstairs at The Irish Club.

Once again we’ll be downstairs at the Irish Club in Subi for our pregame function from 1pm. CLAIRE MITCHELL-TAVERNER (Geelong Player Development and Hockeyroos Gold Medallist) will be in for a chat and to take your questions on how the players have gone off season.

While former Geelong star, club life member and regular to Perth TIM “Bluey” McGRATH will be along from K-Rock to talk up our chances this season.

We’ll also have a silent auction where you can bid to win a framed 1951 WEG Premiership Poster and specially numbered framed caricatures of Geelong Brownlow Medal winners Paul Couch and Patrick Dangerfield.

There will also be a raffle on the day where you can win yourself a heap of prizes including a framed 2009 WEG Premiership poster, signed Cats gear and vouchers to Fraser’s Restaurant worth $300.

Fraser’s Restaurant – King’s Park

There’s a full bar and pub food upstairs and a handball comp for the kids (with prizes). As well as being a 5 minute walk from Subi oval; where else would you want to be other than around the corner from the ground hanging out with fellow Cats before the game?
Entry is a gold coin donation (which puts you in the running for a door prize) with all money raised going to Geelong Cats Football Club. No bookings necessary.

Due to a cancellation, we do have one ticket left. Get in touch with Perth Cats’ secretary Peter Proposch on 0416 130 651 if you can attend; or want to add to the tickets you already have.
All tickets already purchased through Perth Cats will be available to be picked up from the Irish Club from 1:00PM on Sunday. You need to pay via EFT to our bank account before Sunday to have your tickets confirmed.

Unfortunately our ticket allocation has again been completely exhausted otherwise.

A massive thank you to Peter Proposch for sorting out the ticketing again this year.

Martin Smith from Symes Financial Solutions is interested in getting a group of fans from WA together and heading over to Geelong for the Cats vs Bulldogs’ Round 9 clash on the Friday night of May 19. It’s the first game of the 2017 season at Simonds Stadium and the new stand will be officially opened. If you’re interested in heading over for the game, then please register your interest by email here:

Thanks to those who have already emailed. We’ll be in touch.

See you all Sunday.
