GWS Giants vs Geelong Cats – Round 2 – Manuka Oval – Sunday 3 April 2016

Giants vs Cats

Hi Cats fans,
Easter Monday …how good was that??? Like many others I thought we’d blown it in the third quarter but a mighty effort saw the boys smash the Hawks by 5 goals! Josh Caddy kicked some massive goals and is finally starting to be the midfield beast we’d hope he’d be in big games. Mark Blicavs had arms and legs everywhere and now free of having to play in the ruck was again very serviceable with a big running goal; while new boy Zac Smith had a fantastic game doing some big chasing for a big man that resulted in 3 goals before half-time. Then, of course, there was Paddy D with 43 touches and a screamer in a quite stunning debut. Pity about his kicking for goal – but I think we can forgive him this time.

Great to see so many people at our new venue – THE GAME – in Northbridge along with a heap of new faces too!

That’s all in the past though and now we move on to Stevie J and the Giants in Canberra this Sunday. Manuka Oval is bigger than the G and we’ll be up against a young side, plus we always seem to be off our game following a Hawks clash, so let’s hope we play to our strengths and record another win to continue the great start to the season. The Giants faded badly against Melbourne last week but will be no pushovers.

We’ll again be at The Game watching this clash from 11.10am (Perth/WA time) but this week we’ll be out in the back of the venue in the Stadium Bar; seeing as the Hawks v Eagles game will be on in the main room where we were last week. To find the Stadium Bar just head straight out to the very back of the venue and it’s off to the left. Look out for the Perth Cats’ banner or ask bar staff.

There is also 20% off Local Tap Beer, standard spirits, house wine and non-alcoholic drinks if you have your Geelong Cats membership card. Check out the attachment to see the list or discounts. Also if you wish to find out where the closest and cheapest parking is near our new venue then check out this link.

And finally, please welcome WATER WANDERERS as a new sponsor of the Perth Cats in 2016. They offer Kayak tours on the Swan River which is an awesome way to see the city from a different angle. Ideal for some of you folk who have moved over from Victoria in recent times, or if you have relatives visiting. You can find more here

If you fancy sponsoring the Perth Cats then check out to see what we can offer or have a chat with Darryl when you come down to The Game on match day.
