Greater Western Sydney Giants vs Geelong Cats

Greater Western Sydney Giants vs Geelong Cats
Round 17 – Startrack Oval – Saturday 25th July 2015

It wasn’t pretty but we got the job done down at Geelong against the young and exciting Bulldogs side. It may well have been Josh Caddy’s best game for the club which has been long overdue. The recently re-signed Jordan Murdoch continues to gain consistence, while Steven Motlop made a huge difference in the final quarter which added further value to his yet to be signed contract.  It was brilliant to see Daniel Menzel have another strong game in the reserves last weekend and exciting to learn that Nathan Vardy will also start his return to senior footy through the VFL this weekend. However on an unfortunate note, all our rivals for one of those final Top 8 spots also won their games.

It’s a real 8 pointer in Canberra this Saturday when we take on the Giants. We’ll be looking to continue our unbeaten run against the AFL’s newest team, who are also competing for a top 8 position. Captain Selwood is back and our list is slowly returning to almost full fitness. It’s the early game so get down to OP’s for lunch and cheer on the boys with fellow Catters. We’re still selling tickets for our end of season raffle with a signed guernsey of the 2015 side as first prize; plus there are plenty of great drink deals on offer.
