Geelong Cats vs Western Bulldogs – Round 19 – Simonds Stadium – Friday 29 July 2016

Hi Cats Fans,

Well that was a welcome result last Saturday with the boys having a strong win at home last week to end Adelaide’s eight-game winning run, largely thanks to a disciplined defensive effort. WA product Sam Menegola looks ready made for that level with a wonderful Cats’ debut while Jed Bews probably had his best game for the seniors yet and Tomahawk had a welcome return to form… and then there was Boris! This week is another tough one down at Kardinia Park against the Bulldogs. The Dogs had a horrible time of it last Saturday with some shocking injuries but get Dahlhaus and Stringer back this week which is massive for them, so we’ll need another four quarter effort.

This will also be an historic night for the club with Jimmy Bartel playing in his 300th game (and his beard in its 17th game) to become just the fourth Cat to notch that milestone; while Boris will break Ian Nankervis’ long standing record of 325 games. I think it’s been said more than once this week about how lucky we’ve been to have these two down at Geelong.

The Perth Cats will be in the main room at The Game Sports Bar in Northbridge for the game so come on down straight after work and cheer on the boys as they look to consolidate their Top Four spot.

GO CATS!
