Geelong Cats vs Carlton

Round 8 – Ethiad Stadium – Friday 22 May 2015

Live from OP’s Tavern – 5:50PM (WA/Perth time) – Commercial free siren to siren!

OP’s Tavern – 444 Scarborough Beach Road, Osborne Park

Well, a disappointing loss up in Sydney against the Swans but the 41 point loss was perhaps a bit unfair on the team, who kept last year’s grand finalists honest for a large majority of the game, even skipping out to a three goal lead at one point. What was a blow of course, was the injury to WA’s Mitch Duncan that will see him missing until August with a broken foot, which robs us of much needed experience in the midfield. Saying that, James Kelly has been named in Friday’s team following his problem in the trouser department against Richmond.

This week we face the out-of-sorts Carlton, who we beat twice last season by less than a goal; so we need to be wary of the fact they match up well against us despite their current form. We’ll be back upstairs at OP’s Tavern on the big screen, so come down and cheers the boys on before their trip out West.

Speaking of the trip out West, you can still get tickets to our pre-game function on Sunday week. Geelong CEO Brian Cook and others will be in attendance along with the raffle with fantastic prizes including vouchers to Fraser’s Restaurant and memorabilia. Unfortunately author Steve Hawke is suddenly unavailable for this event. If you’d like tickets to the pre-game function give Peter a call on 0416 130 651 or 9293 1221. Unfortunately at this time, match tickets available through the Perth Cats have sold out, so we’ve stopped taking names but are working with the club to hopefully get some more.

The Geelong Cats will be holding an open training session on Saturday May 30 at Domain Stadium (Subiaco Oval) from 3.30pm until 4.30pm; with a chance to get autographs and photos following the session! It’s free with entry at Gate 26 off Subiaco Road. Full details below.
