Geelong Cats vs Adelaide Crows – Round 18 – Simonds Stadium – Saturday 23 July 2016

Hi Cats Fans,

First off a big thank you to everyone to coming down to the Irish Club last Sunday for the pre-game function. It was a tremendous success and we weren’t expecting that many people! A huge thank you to Fraser’s Restaurant for some of the raffle prizes too. The win was a win but it was a struggle at times and we should be happy with our first win over Ross Lyon in Perth. Apart from Danger there were some tremendous efforts from Boris, Mackie and Hendo before he went off after that nasty landing.

This Saturday we have the first of two massive consecutive games at Kardinia Park; this week we host the Crows in the match of the round. Don Pyke has changed some things around since we easily beat them on their patch in Round 8, which has resulted in an eight game winning streak, so they’ll be confident coming in to this game. Hendo is missing with concussion which is a loss up against the Crows’ potent forward line, but club champion Jim Bartel makes a welcome return for game 299.

We’ll be back in the main room at The Game Sports Bar in Northbridge, so come on down and cheer on the Cats as we try and sneak back in to the four. There will be the usual discounts and also – a reminder that this game won’t be free-to-air on Channel 7. See you there!

GO CATS!
Dennis Gedling – President.
